HRS Engine Development (Huub Ritzen Special engines) is a one-man business specialized in building Ford and Chevrolet V8 competition racing engines. Most of the engines built at the HRS Engine Development shop are used in historic racing cars, but some are 350+ HP engines used in high-performance street cars.
I started HRS Engine Development in 1993. One day, at the Avon Park Raceway, the engine of my 351 Cleveland Ford exploded after I had fed it too big a shot of nitrous. That was when I decided it was time for a change after tuning engines for oval track racing and drag racing for more than ten years.
